It’s been over a month since my last news post. On one hand, it hasn’t been eventful in terms of Evangelion stuff in the last month. Eva has been airing on Cartoon Network, but there’s nothing worth talking about. The Platinum Thinpak is coming soon, and I should be getting it for review, so if anyone is curious, I should be able to tell you exactly what it entails.
But, aside from uneventfulness, I’ve been noticibly absent from the site and forums. Before you freak out and think that Eva Monkey is going down, or that I’m giving up, don’t worry, its all good. With the end of this semester, I’m looking to spend some time during the winter working on Eva Monkey. I have a sleek sexy new design to commemorate the site’s third anniversary. I’ll be trying a few new things, and hopefully people will enjoy renewed interest in Evangelion.
That’s the short of it. If anyone’s interested in what I’ve been doing in the meantime, feel free to read on.
College has been tough, busy, hectic, stressful, but mostly enjoyable. I’m currently working as a Input/Output/Lab monitor in the Visual Art department. I’m also working as a staff writer for the Art & Entertainment section of the school newspaper “The Retriever”. I’ve been writing about Anime, Games, Websites, and Movies. I’ve generally been regarded as a fine new addition to what is considered the paper’s strongest and most successful section.
My anime club on the other hand has been extremely stressful, which is a damn shame. I’m currently struggling with the position of Vice President. And as anyone knows, the VP position of any organization is more or less the “bitch” of the club. The one that does the most work, the greatest diversity of tasks, and receives the least amount of credit. It sucks, and this is the first semester where it has sucked beyond all relative standards.
I’m enjoying my arts education, and looking forward to a smooth conclusion to the semester. I haven’t had a break in a while, my only real break was the summer of 2004, due to semesters between regular semesters. I took 12 credits over the summer, which many people consider “nuts”. I thought it was easy. Winter vacation will be a time for me to kick back, play some video games, watch some anime, do some web design, and be an Eva geek again.
See you all then.
