It’s pretty sad how much I’ve neglected this site over the years. There’s been so much content that I’ve never gotten around to creating/adding/fixing/revising/etc. Sections such as the series and music guides have gone on bare and broken. I look at what’s in store for the fandom, and I see an imminent resurgence at hand in the form of a number of things coming to fruition. In the next few years, there will be an entirely new Evangelion series. The Evangelion manga will come to a conclusion. And the live action Evangelion project will presumably get somewhere. All of this might crystallize in another wave of Evangelion fandom, similar to the previous waves of fandom that surrounded Evangelion’s original release, and then later with the release of the movies. And that’s something I want to be prepared for. I’m not giving up on this site or the fandom. I’ve been tempted to move on, to pass control of the site over to someone I felt could continue what I had begun. But that would be a waste of all the effort I’ve put into this. There is so much more I want to do and accomplish. I want to contribute my writings to the upcoming Terminal Dogma, and be satisfied in being published in print. I want to graduate from film studies and have a shot at working on the live action Evangelion project in some small capacity. I want to produce my own documentary on Evangelion, as a sort of capstone project. I want to be satisfied with this site, in that it can continue on as a resource for reference and education. And most of all, I want what I’ve done to garner the attention of Gainax. I want them to see the dedication and devotion I’ve shown to their work, and in so doing, gain the opportunity to meet Anno, a man I deeply admire and have been influenced in my own work as an artist. All these aspirations I have simply can’t go on unrequited. It’s time for me to do what I set out to do initially, and give back to the community in the form of a well organized resource of information. This is my resolution for the new era of Evangelion fandom.
